In March, we celebrated Heinz Mack’s 95th birthday with pastels and ceramics. In November, we are taking his work to Shanghai.

From 10 to 15 November 2026, we will be participating in the first edition of GRAPHIKOS, a special exhibition as part of West Bund Art & Design. Six renowned European galleries will present 78 works spanning more than five centuries of Western art history, from the Renaissance to the present day. We will be showing Mack’s most recent works: pastels and collages created over the last few years.

Light, colour and movement have occupied Mack since the beginnings of ZERO, and they continue to fascinate him to this day. In his new pastels, colours meet in ever-changing gradations, intensifying, dissolving and glowing from within.

Taking works on paper to China is, of course, a little like carrying coals to Newcastle. Not only was paper invented there, but its use in art also has a tradition stretching back thousands of years. That is precisely why we are so delighted to show Heinz Mack’s works in Shanghai, and we very much look forward to meeting collectors and art lovers from China and around the world.
