Artists are specialists in uncertainties, in experiments, in pushing boundaries. The Kunstmuseum Ahlen invites you to dare to look at tomorrow and to sort our (global) life anew. On display are videos, photographs, installations, sculptures and drawings by 19 international artists from Germany, Belgium, Spain, Israel, Turkey and the USA.
Our society, which in recent years has been characterised by maximum functionality and efficiency, has at the same time been living in chronic crisis mode for a long time. The Corona pandemic has only exacerbated this and made it more visible: mobility and productivity have almost come to a standstill. Global exchange processes no longer functioned, forms of employment proved fragile, ways of life vulnerable. The "everything goes" became a "nothing goes". Limits to growth became clearly perceptible. The question is all the more urgent: How do we want to live? How can we do justice to future generations? What fundamental changes are necessary for this? Is there perhaps an opportunity in the crisis? It seems we need a new beginning, a "reset"!
